Welcome to CIE Australia!

CIE Australia is the Australian National Committee of the International Commission on Illumination, also known as the CIE.  As its name implies, the International Commission on Illumination - abbreviated as CIE from its French title Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage - is an organisation devoted to international cooperation and exchange of information among its member countries on all matters relating to the science and art of lighting.

CIE Australia Lighting Research Conference 2023 - Call for Abstracts!

The 2023 CIE Australia Lighting Research Conference will be held on Tuesday 7th February 2023 at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and online.  Abstract submission is now open and will close on Friday 25th November.  More details can be found on the CIE Australia Lighting Research Conference 2023 page.

The day prior to the conference (Monday 6th February) we are planning to hold two additional events:

  • CIE Australia 2023 AGM (11:00 am to 1:00 pm); and
  • Research Student Workshop (2:00 pm to 5:00 pm).

More details on both of these events will follow in due course.

CIE Australia 2022 AGM

The 74th Annual General Meeting of CIE Australia was held on Thursday 24th March 2022 from 16:00 to 18:00 AEDT by WebEx.  More details at the following link.

 

CIE Position Statement on the use of UV radiation to manage the risk of COVID-19 transmission

The CIE has released a position statement which details the risks associated with using ultraviolet (UV) radiation to manage the risk of COVID-19 transmission.  This important document is freely available for download from the CIE website.

 

CIE Australia News
