CIE Australia Lighting Research Conference 2023
Tuesday 7th February 2023
Welcome to the website of CIE Australia's 2023 Lighting Research Conference. Researchers and members of the lighting community from Australia and overseas will present a variety of talks on topics relating to the core scientific work of the CIE. We hope to see you online at what promises to be a high quality and informative one-day conference.
Significant pricing discounts apply to students and members of CIE Australia.
Additionally, on the afternoon before the conference we are planning to run a Research Student Workshop which will be held in Sydney (venue TBC) and also accessible online. More details will follow closer to the event.
Although the conference is being organised as an in-person conference, we understand that people may not be willing to travel or to attend in-person events due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, provision will be made for people to present and also to attend the conference online only. This will also facilitate participation by attendees who can't travel to Australia.
Note that the COVID-19 advice may be updated as regulations and policies change. For more information please contact conference chair Tony Bergen on email@example.com.
Call for Abstracts
Abstracts are sought for presentations and workshops in the field of light and lighting with specific emphasis on the following topics:
Abstracts should be no more than 250 words. The conference will consist only of oral presentations of duration 15-20 minutes and workshops of duration 20-30 minutes (times subject to confirmation). There will be no proceedings however an abstract booklet will be provided. The deadline for abstract submission is Friday 25th November 2022 with acceptance notification by Friday 9th December.
As there will be no proceedings, it is not critical that the oral presentations contain completed research - they can be used to show work in progress or inform the community of important developments. Workshops can also be used to outline a problem or research gap that needs attention. In addition to presenting research the intention of the conference is to promote discussion and collaboration between different research groups within Australia.
A dinner will be held after the conference at a nearby restaurant. It is open to conference attendees as well as accompanying partners and others. More details will follow.
